  • Meaning of Nodal analysis.
  • Reservoir fluids description, different methods of building fluid model, PVT concept and usage.
  • Concept of single phase and multiphase flow through reservoirs.
  • Different IPR reservoir models and how to be used.
  • How to apply more inflow modelling options “Multi-layer reservoirs, Relative permeability, sand failure and compaction permeability model”.
  • Concept of single phase and multiphase flow in pipes.
  • Different VLP correlations and how it will be used to calculate the relation between the fluid flow rate and the pressure loss in pipes.
  • Concept of single phase and multiphase flow in chokes and the meaning of sonic and subsonic flow through chokes.
  • How to build and validate a complete well model for NF wells.
  • How to match the NF well model and how to perform sensitivities.
  • How to evaluate the well performance under any condition.
  • How to build and validate well model for AL wells (GL and ESP)
  • How to match the AL well model (GL and ESP), and how to perform sensitivities.
  • How to use the quick look option to check and diagnose the performance of the AL systems (GL and ESP).
  • How to perform design for the GL and ESP using a well modelling application.

  • Petroleum & reservoir engineers starting from fresh graduates up to senior engineers.

  • Nodal analysis is the base of petroleum engineering; in this course, we will discuss the
IPR performance from different theories, VLP theory and calculation methods for different lifting mechanisms (NF, GL and ESP).
  • We will use PETEX software (Prosper) for well modelling; we will know how to match a model and how to estimate the well performance at different cases and for different well types.
  • Attending the course will make you able to efficiently model any well with different
reservoir models and different AL systems and estimate the effect of change in any well
parameter on the whole system. Moreover will allow you to perform design for different artificial lift systems (GL and ESP) using Prosper.
