In this course you would learn the following:
1- The fundamentals of Electric submersible pumps.
2- ESP equipment selection and design consideration.
3- ESP component and their features.
4- ESP hand design.
5- Variable speed operations.
It is preferable to review or have a fair knowledge about the following:
However, we will go through all of these topics during the course.
The electric submersible pump is one of the most reliable and widely used artificial lift methods, especially in highly productive wells. This course is intended to provide you with the core knowledge required in the ESP industry. Starting from the Nodal analysis and moving through the ESP system components description and functions, pump curve then you will be introduced to the pump design and data requirement where you will learn how to do a full hand design. Then you will learn about the detailed ESP string components Description, sizing, and selection (The pump, motor, seal or protector, cable system, and accessories). As gas production is one of the top enemies of ESP systems, gas management will also be discussed then the down-hole monitoring process and variable speed operation will be explained. Upon completing the course, the candidate should be able to describe, select and design different ESP components and understand their operations.
